Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
Mewvie Stream stores and plays video for other services, and every video it plays is played under our name as much as yours. These rules apply to everything uploaded to an account, to everything delivered through it, and to the way the service itself is used.
1. Content that is not allowed
- Content that sexually exploits or endangers minors, in any form. We remove it, preserve what the law requires, report it to the competent authorities and close the account.
- Illegal content under the law of the Republic of Cyprus, the European Union, or the country where it is delivered.
- Content you have no right to distribute: films, series, broadcasts, music or other works of others without a licence. How rightsholders reach us is in Copyright and Content Reports.
- Intimate images of a person without their consent, and any content recorded or shared to harass, threaten or blackmail.
- Terrorist content, and content that incites violence or hatred against people because of who they are.
- Malware, and files disguised as video to carry something else.
2. Use of the service that is not allowed
- getting around playback sessions, signed links, encryption, access rules or the billing;
- sharing API keys or account access with people outside your organisation;
- using Mewvie Stream as general file storage or to serve anything other than the videos, posters and tracks it was built for;
- load testing, scanning or attacking the service, or using it to attack others;
- sending directly identifying personal data (names, emails, phone numbers) as a viewer id;
- pointing the fetch feature or webhooks at systems you are not allowed to reach.
3. What we do
We do not watch your videos. We act on reports, on what our systems flag — for example, traffic that looks like an attack — and on what the law requires us to act on. Depending on how serious a breach is:
- a video is taken down — it stops playing and its files are deleted;
- a feature is turned off for the account;
- the account is suspended: nothing plays and the API refuses requests, but nothing is deleted while the matter is open;
- the account is closed and, where the law requires it, the matter is reported to the authorities.
We tell the account owners what was decided and why, unless the law prevents it or telling them would put somebody at risk. A person who reports content is not identified to the account they reported.
4. Appealing a decision
If you think a takedown or a suspension was wrong, write to [email protected] from an owner's address, with the video or account it concerns and why. The appeal is read by a person who did not take the original decision. We aim to answer within fourteen days.
5. Reporting content
Anyone can report a video delivered through Mewvie Stream at mewvie.com/report — no account needed. Reports of content that sexually exploits minors are handled first.
