Credits and Refund Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
1. What credits are
Credits are your account's prepaid balance, in US dollars. They belong to the account, not to the person who bought them, and every member sees the same balance. Credits do not expire, cannot be transferred to another account, and cannot be exchanged for money except as described in section 5.
2. How credits are spent
- Storage — per gigabyte-month, charged every hour for what is stored in that hour;
- Video delivery — per gigabyte delivered to your viewers, charged every hour;
- AI features — transcription, translation and dubbing, per minute of video, charged once when the job succeeds.
Encoding, the API and webhooks are free. The rates are published at mewvie.com/pricing. Every charge appears in the transaction log of the dashboard and the app.
3. Buying credits
Credits are bought in packs in the Mewvie app, through the App Store or Google Play. A pack puts a fixed amount of credits on the balance — the amount is in its name — and its price, in your currency, is shown by the store before you pay. The price of a pack is higher than the credits it adds: it covers the store's commission and taxes. Payment, receipts and taxes are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details.
We may also grant credits to an account; a grant comes with a note that the owners can see.
4. When the balance runs out
We warn the account by webhook when the balance falls below a threshold you set (5 US dollars unless you change it). When it reaches zero the account is suspended: videos stop playing, the API refuses requests, and the dashboard and app only read. Nothing is deleted and storage keeps being charged, so the balance can go below zero. Topping up lifts the suspension at once.
5. Refunds
- Packs bought in the App Store or Google Play are refunded by Apple or Google under their own rules: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com or in your Google Play order history. When a store refunds a pack, its credits are taken back from the balance, which may then go below zero.
- Credits already spent are not refundable: they paid for storage, delivery and AI work that happened.
- Closing the account. If you close the account because of a change to our rates or Terms you did not accept, we refund the unused credits you bought from us in the twelve months before, minus what the store kept, on request to [email protected].
- A charge you think is wrong — write to [email protected] with the line from the transaction log. If we made a mistake, we put the credits back.
Nothing in this policy limits a right a consumer has under the law of the country where they live.
