Copyright and Content Reports
Last updated: 26 October 2026
Mewvie Stream is a hosting service: our customers upload videos and play them in their own apps and sites. We do not choose or watch what they upload, but we act on what is reported to us, as the EU Digital Services Act and the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act expect of a host.
1. How to report
Use the form at mewvie.com/report. You do not need an account. Give us the link to the video — the page where you saw it works, and a link to stream.mewvie.com is the surest — and say what is wrong with it. Every report is read by a person.
Reports of content that sexually exploits minors are handled before anything else. If somebody is in immediate danger, call the police first: we cannot reach anybody faster than you can.
2. Copyright notices
A notice of copyright infringement has to contain:
- the work you say is infringed;
- the link to the infringing video;
- your name, address, email and phone number;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them;
- your signature — typing your full name is enough.
The form asks for each of them. Knowingly misrepresenting that material infringes can make you liable for damages. Our designated contact for notices is [email protected], but the form reaches us faster.
3. What we do with a report
If the report is complete and the video is unlawful or breaks our Acceptable Use Policy, we take it down: it stops playing and its files are deleted. We tell the customer whose video it was, and the reporter what we decided. If the report is incomplete or the video is lawful, we reject it and say why. A customer whose videos are taken down again and again loses their account.
4. Counter-notice
A customer who believes their video was taken down by mistake can send a counter-notice to [email protected] with: the video taken down, a statement under penalty of perjury that it was removed by mistake or misidentification, their name, address and phone number, consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where they are (or of the Republic of Cyprus if outside the US and the EU), and their signature. We pass it to the person who reported. Unless they tell us within 10 to 14 working days that they have started court proceedings, the customer may upload the video again.
Any other decision can be appealed as described in section 4 of the Acceptable Use Policy.
