Your Data Rights
Last updated: 26 October 2026
The GDPR gives you rights over your personal data. This page says what each one means here and, where it exists, which control in the dashboard or the app performs it.
If you are a viewer of a video played through Mewvie Stream, the service you watched it in decides about your data and is the one to ask first; we only know the identifier it gave us. You may still write to us, and we will pass the request to that service and help it answer.
1. Access — a copy of your data
Your libraries, videos, transactions and usage are in the dashboard and the app. For a copy of everything we hold about you, write to [email protected] from your account's email address.
2. Rectification — fixing something wrong
Your profile, password and account settings are editable in the dashboard and in the app (Profile → Edit profile, Security & password). For anything you cannot reach, write to us.
3. Erasure — deleting
- A video or track — delete it in the dashboard, the app or the API; its files go at once.
- Your account — in the app, Profile → Edit profile → Delete account.
What survives, and why, is set out in Account Deletion and Data Retention.
4. Restriction — pausing rather than deleting
If you contest the accuracy of something, or object to processing, you can ask us to hold it and stop using it while the question is settled. Write to [email protected].
5. Portability — taking it elsewhere
Your videos are yours to take: the API gives a link to each original file. The copy from point 1 comes in a machine-readable format.
6. Objection
Where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interests — security, abuse prevention, error reports, app analytics — you can object, and we stop unless we can show compelling grounds that override your interests. We do not use personal data for direct marketing.
7. Notifications
In the app, Profile → Security & password → Notifications turns off notifications about videos, AI jobs or the balance separately.
8. Complaining
Tell us first if you are willing to — [email protected] — and we will answer. You do not have to: you may complain directly to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus, or to the supervisory authority of the country where you live or where the problem happened.
How we handle a request
- We answer within one month, and if a request is complex we may extend that by two months — in which case we tell you why, inside the first month.
- It is free, unless a request is manifestly unfounded or repetitive.
- We need to know it is you. The simplest proof is making the change yourself, or writing from your account's email address. Otherwise we may ask for something that shows the request is yours — as little as possible.
